    Upstox Demat Charges include two charges, which are the annual maintenance charge and the Upstox account opening charge. The former one is charged every year to run the account with the firm and it is the same for the Upstox Trading Charges as well.

    So, as you can see in the table above, the account opening charges for Demat account are nil or free, but there is a very nominal annual maintenance charge which is levied by the firm on the Demat account for maintaining the same. Moreover, this AMC is an upfront fee that is levied.
